The following example cropping the image in Ms Word 2007, Microsoft Office to another menu screen is not much different.
Perform insert picture as usual, via the menu Insert -> Picture
After the image appears, click on the image, it will display thePicture Tools Format Menu
Select the Crop icon (circled in red in the example)
click on image to enlarge
To make cropping, adjust / slide the mouse cursor on the top, bottom, or side of the image to make the area as expected.
